L'Echappée Belle is an ultra-trail race through the Belledonne massif. The event is reknown for its highly technical nature, the challenge posed by its difficult-to-access trails, and the high altitude at which it takes place.

Created in 2013, l'Échappée Belle has quickly established itself as one of the most beautiful and demanding trails in the ultra world. From its very first edition, this race has been attracting attention with a high point at 2,930 metres altitude on the Croix de Belledonne and a traverse of the Freydane glacier. Participants must cross 15 passes and cover 40 kilometers above 2,000 meters to complete the adventure. The record for the complete traverse is held by François D'Haene, with a time of 23h55min11s.
