My name is Clément Zoubiri, I’m 23 years old and I’m from the Grésivaudan region. I’ve had a passion for the mountains since I was a kid, skiing competitively before taking an interest in the pleasures the mountains have to offer in summer (trail running, hiking, etc.).
A word from our ambassadors
Meeting with ClémentWhy did you choose to become an ambassador for Les 7 Laux?
I chose to become an ambassador for Les 7 Laux because I’m very proud to contribute to the reputation of this resort, which is so dear to me. Through the values it conveys, this family resort offers an interlude of happiness for all ages and all levels of skiers and snowboarders. For me, representing the resort on social networks is an opportunity to promote the wealth of leisure activities on offer in the area.
What does Les 7 Laux mean to you?
For me, Les 7 Laux is much more than a ski resort. It’s the resort that saw me make my first descents and my first competitions. It symbolizes outings with family and friends, as well as the joy of sharing slides and great fun.
How long have you been using the station?
I’ve been coming to the resort since I was 2 and I’m now 23, so I’ve had plenty of time to see the area evolve! Coming to the resort every season, it’s a bit like a second home here.
Is there one place you think symbolizes the resort more than another?
For me, Les Vallons du Pra is the place that symbolizes the resort par excellence. This mythical run of the resort, feared by some, synonymous with freeride for others, is the absolute grail for any experienced skier. What’s more, the organization of the Derby des Vallons du Pra further illustrates the importance of this run in the resort.
What's your favorite thing to do in Les 7 Laux?
There’s no doubt about it: downhill skiing! The richness of the area, with runs for all levels on three different slopes, means there’s never a dull moment. That’s why I’d say downhill skiing, although there’s plenty to do at Les 7 Laux.
Can you tell us about your perfect day in the mountains?
The perfect day in the mountains starts with an early morning sunrise to enjoy a superb sunrise. It’s best enjoyed with friends, to share the pleasure and the spectacular scenery, especially in the Belledonne range! After a good hike, preferably to a lake, we share a picnic of sausage, fresh bread and maybe a little génépi beer. Then it’s back down to the car, commenting on the names of the flowers in our path and the surrounding peaks.
Do you have a favorite trail in Les 7 Laux?
As I mentioned earlier, the Vallons du Pra, with its combination of bumps, powder and a winding path through the forest, is without doubt my favorite trail. I must confess I also have a soft spot for Mataru, which allows you to pick up a little more speed in the direction of Pipay.
Are there any other activities you'd recommend doing at Les 7 Laux apart from the one you mentioned?
I recommend cross-country skiing at the Beldina Nordic ski area. A superb area, again for all levels, allowing you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest, on a particularly well-maintained area, day and night!
For a moment of relaxation, I also recommend the hot baths at Bédina Spa, offering a concentrate of relaxation with a view of the Prapoutel slopes.
Do you visit the resort in summer? If so, for which activity(ies)?
I frequent the resort in summer (perhaps more than my own house)… The hiking trails are incredible and access to the resort’s various lakes makes it easy to cool off. Taking on the slopes, on grass instead of snow, is a real challenge. I absolutely recommend it!
Last word: 3 words that come to mind to define the resort?
Family-friendly, fun, sporty!
