Good physical condition
Even if you only need an advanced level of skiing to ski touring, being in good physical condition is essential. Here, there are no chairlifts or ski lifts like on the pistes at Prapoutel, Pipay or Le Pleynet. Armed with your skins under your skis, you’ll have to use your thighs to climb the slope. Only then will you have the chance to ski down in the wonderful powder snow.
A great introduction
What you love most about ski touring is the diversity of itineraries above Les 7 Laux, their different levels of difficulty, but above all the splendour of the scenery. That’s what you’ll remember about ski touring at Cime de la Jasse. Even if this is a very popular route, starting from Prabert, the fact remains that the descent in the sunshine is guaranteed to be a lot of fun, and above all, the scenery is exceptional. You’re in for a real treat! The views of the Belledonne mountain range and the surrounding area are breathtaking. As you make your way along this route, you’ll come across valleys, valleys and lakes. But it’s not until you reach the summit of La Jasse that you realise just how immense the beauty of nature is, and how humble we are beside it. Come on, there’s no time to dawdle after a bit of rest, and you need to think about heading back down to Prapoutel or Prabert before the snow conditions change too much. And yes, ski touring in the Belledonne massif also means that you have to respect the snow conditions.
Of course, there are many other itineraries to choose from, including the Belle Etoile, the Pic des Cabottes and the Dent du Pra. To make the most of them, you can now take the Ski de rando package.
