Doing

ski touring

While downhill skiing is done on fully marked and groomed slopes, ski touring is for its part, a ski practice that offers more freedom. Nevertheless, it is also a practice that requires an excellent technique and obviously requires the utmost caution.

Good physical condition

Even if you only need to have a confirmed level of skiing to practice ski touring, having a good physical condition is paramount. Here, no chairlift, no ski lift as on the slopes of Prapoutel, Pipay or Pleynet. Armed with your seal skins under your skis, it is by the strength of your thighs that you will have to climb the slope. It is only at the cost of this effort that you will have the chance to descend into a wonderful powder.

A beautiful initiation

What you like most about ski touring is the diversity of routes above the 7 Laux resort, their different levels of difficulties, but above all the splendour of the landscapes. This is what you will learn from your ski touring practice at the Cime de la Jasse. Even if it is a very popular route starting from Prabert, the fact remains that the descent offered in the sun guarantees you very playful moments and above all exceptional landscapes. You’re going to get a lot of it! The view of the Belledonne range and its surroundings is awe-inspiring. In the detours of this track you will walk through combes, go through valleys and go along lakes. But it is only when you reach the top of la Jasse that you understand that the beauty of nature is immense and that we are very humble next to it. Go zou, no time to stroll after a little rest you have to think about going down to Prapoutel or Prabert before the snow conditions have changed too much and it has become soup. And yes, the practice of ski touring in the Belledonne massif also means carefully respecting the snow conditions.

Many other routes are possible of course such as the Belle étoile or the Pic des Cabottes or the Dent du Pra. To make the most of it, you can now take the Ski Hiking package.

Being accompanied by guides

As beautiful as it is, hiking is an activity that requires caution and must be supervised for safety. With a guide or instructor, you will first learn the best practices of ski touring, but above all you do not engage when there is an avalanche risk or if the snow conditions do not allow it.
