Discovering the world of sled dogs, trying to understand their way of life, observing them in their activity, reserves beautiful surprises throughout a day in Prapoutel or at la Ferrière dedicated to their observation.
In addition to their beauty, sled dogs will have incredible resistance to physical exertion and can be distinguished by their endurance in any circumstance. Spending a day at the Vallée blanche or Nunavut dog breeding farms is about immersing yourself in the daily life of these exceptional dog teams. This day of immersion takes place in 3 main stages:
- A tour of the kennel to discover the polar dogs, their characteristics and understand the importance of the relationship with the Musher
- A “canine-hiking” outing with the dogs to discover the polar dogs in their element. This moment is a highlight, which allows feeling on one hand the traction of the dog (attached to the belt), but also the strength of contact with the one who leads it. A way to build the relationship between man and dog
- an introduction to driving a dog team with a 2-hour outing, or 45-minute baptisms and 3-hour hikes to Nunavut Evasion to Prapoutel. A true incarnation in Musher to discover how to drive a team through a long kart and discover the sled dogs in a group
